Located in Nagoya City (Nakagawa district), Arakogawa Park is without a doubt one of the most beautiful parks to visit during the cherry blossom season.
The cherry blossom season ended just a few weeks ago, and compared with other years, this year felt very short. A few weeks ago temperatures began to rise, which made the cherry trees bloom early in the season and last just under 2 weeks. In a flash they went from sakura to green leaves.
In the park, around 1,000 cherry trees stand on both sides of the Arako River. You can go for a walk in the morning along the park (there is about 2 km of park) or visit it at night. During the cherry blossom season, every night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm they light up the surroundings of the park, thus giving a night view of the trees. During this time there are also concerts, craft workshops and other attractions.
The park is also famous for its lavender gardens, which can be visited in mid-June. Inside the park there is also a small Japanese garden, picnic area, a playground for kids, a coffee shop, etc …
Arakogawa Park is an ideal place to spend time enjoying nature with an unforgettable landscape.
Bring a sandwich or an onigiri to eat inside the park or you can go to eat at the Eaon Mall that is right next to the park.
